11/22/04 - IRCommand2 Version 3.62 Summary of New Features

  3. More Efficient -- IRC2 has been optimized to minimize Windows resource usage. This improvement has the most benefit for users of Win95/98/ME where it is now possible to create many more device panels and buttons without exhausting windows resources.
  4. Hidden Device Panels -- Device panels can now be flagged as "hidden", which removes them from the device tab list when not in Learn mode.

  10. Bug Fixes -- see Bug List for details.

5/1/04 - IRCommand2 Version 3.50 Summary of New Features
The new version contains a number of new features, all of which are free to registered users. Demo users can also sample the new features, though there are some restrictions. The new and improved features include:

  1. X10 -- Support for X10 control via the CM11A and HD11A (IBM Home Director) computer interfaces. X10 support includes not only sending of commands, but also listening and responding to X10 triggers, etc. An X10 "dongle" used in conjunction with one or more IR200L dongles can be set up to do some interesting crossover control between infrared and X10. Change the station on your radio using an X10 controller pad, or turn on a light with your favorite IR remote control. Version 3.50 supports up to 4 dongles (demo users are still limited to one dongle).
  2. Timers -- All buttons now include a new "time trigger" property that enables triggering of a button on a set weekly time schedule, including randomized time settings for security applications. Time triggers will even wake up a PC from standby mode to execute (Win98 and up). A time schedule viewer and a time trigger print function are also included.
  3. Event Logging -- IRC2 can optionally log execution of time trigger events in the operating system event log (Win XP/2K/NT only).
  4. Click Delays -- Macros now support a special delay button type that can be inserted into a macro sequence to create delays ranging from one second to several days.
  5. Viewers -- A new View menu item contains viewers for key triggers, time triggers, and one that displays the timer event schedule (events that were scheduled by time triggers and click delays).
  6. Program Options -- A new Options menu under Setup allows control of the new logging feature, some viewer options, and a new option to minimize IRC2 to the system tray.
  7. Button Property Sheets -- There have been a number improvements made to the button and group property displays to make them easier to use.
  8. Button Kit -- The button kit has been updated and includes some new button types.
  9. Activators -- Some users may be familiar with the activator property for state groups. Now, all buttons have an activator property that allows a state button to activate and deactivate any button. A deactivated button ignores all clicks, time triggers, etc. until it is activated.
  10. Help -- is now a little easier to use. Important dialogs, such as the property sheets now include the "?" icon to make it easier to indicate exactly where you need help.
  11. IR200 Interface Improvements -- Significant improvements have been made to the control logic for the IR200 dongle to make it more reliable on a wider range of PC configurations. The changes have also greatly improved the reliability of the IR200 when it is used with a USB-serial converter (more on that once the new version is released).
  12. Many Other Minor Fixes and Improvements too numerous to mention, including that pesky nag screen fix for demo users.
