* Windows Vista - Online Help Does not work
8/31/08
IRCommand2 online help requires the Windows Help program, which is no longer
distributed with Windows starting with Vista. However, Microsoft offers a free
download (with validation) for Vista that can be obtained from Microsoft here.
* Installation Slow or Appears to Hang
2/7/06
The initial unpacking of the IRCcommand2 installation EXE package may be very
slow or appear to hang on some systems. There are two known causes for this
behavior:
- Microsoft Outlook is running. As is generally recommended, all
applications should be shut down prior to the install. In this case, Outlook
slows down messaging used by the installation package and can make it very
slow.
- A real-time virus checker is running. This will necessarily slow down the
unpacking process since it will scan all unpacked files for viruses.
If you prefer not to disable either Outlook or your virus checker during the
installation, then the solution is to simply let the installation go for at
least several minutes, even if it appears to hang. In every case that we have
observed, the installation continued normally after 1-2 minutes.
In short, the simplest solution is to just be patient with the install. We
will attempt to remedy this problem in a future release.
